The inaugural BCDI Golf Outing is almost here! We are extremely excited to host our community for the 2024 BCDI Golf Outing at Mt. Hawley Country Club on Thursday, August 29 with a 10 a.m. tee time.
The BCDI Golf Outing is a charity event that will raise crucial funds for a good cause with all proceeds raised benefitting the BCDI Foundation, including improvements to patient program services and the Green Family Scholarship Fund. Inside this article, you will find all of the details about the event that you’ll need to enjoy a fun day of golf with the BCDI team!
NOTE: Mt. Hawley Country Club is cash-only, so bring cash for any purchases with the golf course. For BCDI Golf Outing purchases and donations, we will accept cash or card payments.

 

LOCATION

The inaugural BCDI Golf Outing will be hosted at Mt. Hawley Country Club located at 7724 Knoxville Ave, Peoria, IL 61614. When you arrive at Mt. Hawley Country Club, you can park in either of the attached parking areas, as seen below. Bring you golf clubs to the check in registration sign in area just outside the Mt. Hawley clubhouse to begin the exciting day!

 

 

 

AGENDA

8:30 am – 10 am: Registration is open at the sign in table outside of the Mt. Hawley clubhouse. Mt. Hawley staff members will take your golf clubs to your assigned golf cart and will tell you where to find your cart. Once you have signed in, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase entry in to on-course games during the Golf Outing, plus mulligans and entry to the Putting Range contest.

10:00 am: Time to find your golf cart and get ready to play! Before play begins, BCDI will present a brief message to the players and sponsors. Then it’s time to hit the links for the inaugural BCDI Golf Outing with a 10 am shotgun start!

12:00 pm: Lunch will be served. Players who are near the Mt. Hawley clubhouse may pick up their lunch box from the tables set up outside the clubhouse. Members of the BCDI staff will also be delivering lunches to players on the golf course.

End of the round (roughly 3:30 pm): All golfers are welcomed to join BCDI inside the Mt. Hawley clubhouse for a post-round Happy Hour! Please join us for heavy hors d’oeuvres, access to the bar and some unique raffle baskets! BCDI will also be announcing the winners of the BCDI Golf Outing tournament, the on-course game winners and draw for the raffle prizes.

 

GOLF OUTING RULES

The 2024 BCDI Golf Outing is a four-person scramble format. Golfers will play the 18-hole round in a team of four players, where each member hits their golf ball throughout the match. Beginning with tee shots, the team selects the “best shot” from the group. Then each member of the team hits their next ball from that spot from the perceived “best stroke” location. This process continues until all holes are completed.

During the post-round Happy Hour ceremony, prizes will be awarded to the teams that finish in first place, second place and to the “most honest” team. Prizes will also be distributed for the contests during the round, including Longest Drives, Longest Putts, Closest to the Pin, Closest to Dr. Tarantino and for any Hole-In-One’s!

 

HAPPY HOUR/AWARDS CEREMONY

If you are interested in participating in the 2024 BCDI Golf Outing but are not interested in playing the round of golf, you can still join us for our post-round celebration! Once the round of golf is finished, beginning around roughly 3:30 p.m., we will welcome guests back to the Mt. Hawley clubhouse for a happy hour and awards ceremony. If you would like to attend the happy hour, you can purchase individual happy hour tickets at our BCDI Golf Outing registration back found here. Happy hour guests can enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and free beer and seltzers from the bar, plus are able to purchase tickets for our premium BCDI Golf Outing raffle baskets, buy 50/50 tickets and attend the BCDI Golf Outing awards ceremony.
