Advanced Practice Provider Supervisor

Kristin Ansteatt, FNP-BC is a board-certified nurse practitioner who specializes in hematology at the Bleeding and Clotting Disorders Institute (BCDI).  She was born and raised in East Peoria, IL.  In 2008, she graduated from Augustana College with a Bachelor’s in biology and later went on to pursue a Bachelor’s in Nursing from Methodist College of Nursing in 2013.  Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Kristin worked as a RN at Saint Francis Medical Center of Peoria for five years on the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.

In late 2018, she received her Master of Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program from Olivet University in Bourbonnais.  She began her nurse practitioner career at BCDI where she now functions as the Advanced Practice Provider Supervisor.  As an APRN of hematology, she enjoys providing patient care and academia.  Kristin has published a peer-reviewed white paper, a case report on immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), and a case series on antithrombin III deficiency. She serves as the Program Lead of BCDI’s ITP Program.  She has also served on several Advisory Boards, has presented at Medical Grand Rounds, and presents at national hematology conferences. In November 2024, Kristin was named the 2024 CUREageous AMP Champ recipient by the Illinois CancerCare Foundation for her exemplary contributions to research, outstanding level of patient care and her involvement in research support.
